We wanted to bring some Filipino spirit to the Scottish coast
We invited our close friends and family who made the journey from beyond the Atlantic Ocean and across the English channel
An informal Asian buffet was served followed by speeches from the Maid of Honour, Razel Morales, and the Bride’s sister, Genn Cabungcal
Filipiana Bolero
Filipiniana boleros are traditional Philippine short, open-front jackets, characterised by iconic stiffened butterfly sleeves. The sleeves represent strength and endurance, transforming from colonial-era constraints into a modern symbol of pride and elegance.
Barong Tagalog
Angus is wearing a traditional barong tagalog.
The barong is an embroidered long-sleeved formal shirt for men and a national dress of the Philippines. Barong tagalog combines elements from both the precolonial native Filipino and colonial Spanish clothing styles. It is traditionally made with sheer textiles woven from pineapple fibres or hemp.
